Wawa Brightens the Future for Kids in Central Florida

Hooray for Wawa Day!

On April 14, we joined our partners at Wawa to celebrate Wawa Day! This day marks the anniversary of Wawa’s first store opening in 1964 as well as the founding of the Wawa Foundation in 2014. From the beginning, Wawa set out to serve its community and remains committed to charities supporting health, hunger and everyday heroes. During the 58th anniversary celebration, Wawa demonstrated this commitment by donating a total of $1 million in gift cards to its charity partners, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. We are proud to be a part of Wawa’s Gift Cards for Care program and are excited to direct a portion of this generous donation to assist families at the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, a part of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Wawa Campaign: April 11 – May 29

Wawa will continue to support Orlando Health Arnold Palmer through their annual coin collection, round-up and register campaigns – happening now through May 29. Thanks to dedicated Wawa associates and generous customers, donations made at the register will change kids’ health and change the future for children across Central Florida.

An exciting new addition to this year’s campaign, Wawa has released a limited-time “Day Brightener” flavored lemonade beverage and provided an additional donation towards our hospital’s Child Life program – a program helps to make a patient’s time at the hospital a bit brighter.
